Simplicity and pared-back elegance was key to Lululemon’s concept, to mark the launch of their collaboration with principal dancer, Francesca Hayward of the Royal Ballet.
Much like the 17-piece collection – which purposely moves away from the stereotypical pastel and floral designs once synonymous with ballet dance wear – the window display was designed to give a modern, fresh take, with clean lines and a muted palette.
A solo mannequin placed on a mirrored plinth, and lit by a single spotlight, is all that is needed to showcase the hotly anticipated, limited edition collection. Framing the customized dancing mannequin is a concertina, freestanding mirror sculpture, spanning the full height of the store windows. The overall effect is that of a modern-day ballerina jewellery box, with the principal dancer taking centre stage.
Strips of mirrored gold fret vinyl adorn the windows, working as a nod to Francesca’s love for all things gold – which can also be seen in the golden stitching featured on the collection pieces and label tags.
